Originally created by Grant McDonald, Spotting Love is based on the true story of Jon-Marc McDonald, who is forced to cope with his partner's (Ric) rapidly accelerating HIV. Jon-Marc quickly learns that Ric's HIV status has been known, but kept secret for quite some time. In a visually captivating one-man show that merges hints of Spalding Gray with magical realism, Spotting Love bridges the gap between promises made in chaos, and their often vastly different manifestations in reality.
Spotting Love originally premiered as part of New York University's 2010 Playwrights Horizons Theatre School Original Work Season.
The second manifestation will be premiering this summer and is seeking designers from all fields - sound, set, costumes, lights and media. We are also seeking collaborative assistants that serve as intermittent directors in the process (designers must also satisfy this function).
Experience in original/devised work is a must. Please contact SpottingLove_gmail.com with "Collaborator" in the subject line. Please include a resume with relevant experience.
